The oldest game in the world. Played badly by people who should know better, and brilliantly by people who never explain how.

Ravello sits above the Amalfi Coast on a cliff that has been confusing people about what to do with their afternoons since the Romans. Gore Vidal lived here for thirty years. Wagner composed here. The light does something unreasonable in the late afternoon and everyone agrees that whatever you had planned can wait.

We found a man with a terrace, a board, and opinions. He has agreed to spend an afternoon teaching you. He is not yet impressed by you. This is correct.

You will learn the difference between luck and skill. You will lose gracefully. You will want a rematch before you've finished your Aperol.

What You'll Experience:

• Two hours of instruction from someone who has been playing since before you were a concern

• Aperol, local wine, and something with olives throughout, because the game demands it
